The Board of HfL's subsiduary Homes for Life Plus has an independent Board that makes the key decisions about the organisation and provides challenge and oversight to ensure that all decisions and activity are in the best interests of the organisation.

For over 30 years Sue has worked in social housing in both local government and housing associations, private housing, factoring and homelessness services in both England and Scotland. She also worked for several years as policy officer with the Chartered Institute of Housing in Scotland (CIH) and in partnership with the Scottish Government, where she helped to shape the policy landscape and showcase good practice in Scotland. Whilst working she has also held many volunteer board roles across a range of complementary services such as a furniture re-use charity, CIH and RSLs. She is currently Director of Housing and Care with Viewpoint Housing in Edinburgh.

David Ogilvie

HfL Plus Vice Chair

David Ogilvie is currently Head of Housing at Blackwood Homes & Care and a Board Member of Homes for Life Plus. He is an experienced housing professional with over 30 years across local authority, housing association, private sector and consultancy roles, with a solid knowledge of the East Lothian housing market and strategic context. David spent 12 years shaping national housing, welfare, homelessness and social policy with SFHA, CIH Scotland and Homes for Scotland. His expertise spans housing strategy, regeneration, social care, welfare reform, social enterprise and property factoring. He brings an enthusiastic commitment to inclusive, community-led housing and effective governance.

Rob Hughes

Rob is a retired housing professional with 40 years experience working in various social housing roles, the last of those as Operations Manager for Hillcrest Homes, responsible for the management of 6,500 tenancies including Mid Market properties.

He has also previously served 12 years as a committee member of Rural Stirling Housing Association, and has served as a Scottish Housing Regulator board appointee to another Registered Social Landlord.  He is the Chair of the Homes for Life Board.
