Annual General Meeting

Homes for Life held its 21st AGM on Wednesday 11th September 2019 at The Maitlandfield House Hotel. There was a great turnout from tenants and other agencies, there were presentations from our Finance Agent Chient & Tait and from Haddington citizens Advice Bureau. Engagement Plan

In February 2019 the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) published a new Regulatory Framework outlining how it regulates Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and the housing and homelessness services provided by local authorities. Under that new framework it also published Engagement Plans for all RSLs, including Homes for Life. We have complied with the SHR's request to submit our current Business Plan and supporting documents to SHR by the end of May 2019.

Changes to Tenant's Rights

The Housing (Scotland) Act 2014 made significant changes to tenant's rights and the way landlords allocate their housing. The changes started to take effect from May 2019. Read about these changes HERE

Freedom of Information

Extends to all Registered Social Landlords from 11th November 2019

Access to Information

We are committed to ensuring openness and transparency and being accountable in carrying out our activities as a Registered Social Landlord in Scotland.

From 11th November2019, The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) gives you the right to ask us for information about the housing services that we deliver and for information that we have provided to the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR)about our financial well being and governance. You can also ask us for the environmental information that we hold under the Environmental Information(Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EISRs).

We already publish a large amount of information on our website and the SHR also publishes information about our performance.

Before requesting information from us, please browse our website and the SHR's website to find out if the information you are looking for has already been published. You can save yourself time by checking what has already been published, as we will normally direct you to that source when you make a request to us. More INFO HERE


Since 1st September 2018 adverts for Homes for Life's vacancies have been hosted by our new Homehunt partner Castle Rock Edinvar . Any vacancies will continue be advertised on Homehunt . New applicants should select Castle Rock Edinvar as their lead landlord.

Additional Specialist Directors Wanted

We are looking to co-opt or appoint additional Directors - with specialist financial, audit, legal, governance or business management expertise and experience. These are voluntary unpaid positions. Directors are expected to prepare for and regularly attend meetings - generally held on the last Wednesday evening of each month. Induction and follow-up training will be provided.
